The Junior Wing held a special Morning Assembly recently . The highlight of the Assembly was the distribution of the medals won by the students of classes III,IV and IV at various levels of Olympiad examinations . Ms Vandana Chawla gave away the medals and the certificates to the winners and applauded them for their praiseworthy performance and hoped that the students will keep on bringing honour to the school.

Pictorial Dialogue Writing
Students of class V engaged themselves in a Pictorial Dialogue Writing activity and enjoyed it thoroughly. The activity was initiated by the English department and aimed at honing the writing skills of the learners and tickle their imagination. Students were given some situations based on the plot of the story and were asked to prepare dialogues between the characters. The activity also aimed at enhancing the vocabulary of the young learners
Hindi Poetry Recitation
On the occasion of Environment Week,the Primary Wing of Veda Vyasa DAV Public School organised a Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition for the students of classes IV and V. Students recited poems on the importance of a sound and pollution free environment for our survival. The competition aimed at creating awareness among the young minds about the urgent need to protect our environment for longer and better sustenance . Nayan Giri and Ashlesha bagged the first prize whereas the second position was bagged by Shruti Kumari and Aditya Shukla of classes IV and V respectively .

Investiture Ceremony 2015-16
The Primary Wing of Veda Vyasa DAV Public School held its investiture ceremony for the session 2015-16. The ceremony marked the inaugural of the junior council for the current academic session. Aditya Shukla and Shefali Prakash were elected as the Head boy and Head Girl of the wing respectively. Principal Ms Chitra Nakra administered the oath of the office in which the council pledged to adhere to the values and principles upheld by the school. Supervisory In charge Ms Vandana Chawla gave away the badges and extended her best wishes to the newly elected council .

Orientation Programme
The Primary Wing of Veda Vyasa DAV Public School held its Orientation Programme for the parents recently for the session 2015-16.Students’ Counsellor Ms Dewan spoke on the importance of Effective Parenting. She mentioned that a child’s all round development is the outcome of the joint efforts put in by the teachers and the parents. As such, cooperation and support from the parents’ end is always desirable and sought for to ensure a comprehensive intellectual growth of the child. Presentations were also shown on effective ways of parenting the guidelines and the rules that need to be followed in the school. The session provided a platform to the teachers and the parents to communicate their expectations, goals and strategies related to the over-all development of a child.
ACCOLADES
The Primary Wing of Veda Vyasa DAV Public School held its annual prize distribution ceremony, Accolades recently. Dr Nisha Peshin, Director Public Schools and Curriculum Development was the Chief Guest at the event whereas Dr N K Uberoi presided over the function. Dr Peshin along with Dr Uberoi, Principal Mrs Chitra Nakra gave away the prizes to the achievers of session 2014-15. Dr Peshin stressed on the importance of quality education for the students while Mrs Nakra spoke about the importance of value education and urged the parents to spend quality time with their children. Dr Uberoi congratulated the students on their success.Students performed beautifully in the cultural items in the function .

HT Workshop on Theatre
The Primary Wing of Veda Vyasa DA V Public School organized a workshop on Theatre and Western Dance for the students of classes IV and V recently.. Mr Rice form HT –PACE was the resource person and he ensured maximum participation by the students in his session. The workshop highlighted on developing acting as a skill, the techniques involved in acting and how theatre is related to our daily lives. Students enjoyed the session as they were given the opportunity to showcase their acting talent on the stage. The workshop was thoroughly informative and entertaining.
