Shunya Se Anant Tak

The Junior Wing of Veda Vyasa DAV Public School organized its annual exhibition – Shunya Se Anant Tak, a timeless journey depicting the progress of human civilization recently. The three-day long event  showcased exhibits on the evolution of human race and focused on the  achievements made by mankind in the fields of food and agriculture, communication, architecture, medicines ,changes in weather and climate over the years. Dr N.K Uberoi, the Chief Guest of the event and Chairman of the school inaugurated the exhibition and applauded the students for their unstinting efforts and innovative ideas. Principal Ms Chitra Nakra also appreciated the extensive research work put in by the budding minds. The spirit of teamwork and systematic approach of the students was inevitably depicted through their creations. The event was a grand success in respect of its holistic approach towards tracing the growth of human civilization.

PowerPoint presentations Peer group teaching

Community Service (project)
A project was taken on community service. Children prepared power point presentation on water resources and to conserve water, plant trees etc. This made them aware about the importance of these in our life.
The presentation was appreciated by the HOD ms.Anju singh.

Natya Manchan

The junior wing of VVDAV Public School organised a Hindi One Act Play competition  for the students of class IV and V.  Each one act play was performed by the two sections of IV and V clubbed together. Students spread various social messages through their enactments like equal opportunities for the girl child, emphasising the importance of self expression by the children,  evils of exploitation etc.  DEEP DAAN (class V-D and IV-i), DAATON KI CHORI (class V-A and IV-C) and KALA KA SAMMAN(class V-F and IV-B) were declared the first,  second and third position winners.

WEIGHT (MEASUREMENTS)

The students of class IV found out the weight of their bags using a spring balance . Weight of books,bottle etc was found using a weighing scale. Different units of weight were discussed thereafter and they converted the given units into other smaller units.The students made beam balance and prepared different weights using plasticine

The Amazing World of Insects

The students of class IV came dressed as insects like butterfly,moths, grasshopper, cockroach ,ladybird etc and brought the insect world alive in the class. They discussed their characteristic features, whether they are useful or  harmful etc.

ROLE PLAY (Charitra Manchan)

The students of class 5 dressed up as BIRSA MUNDA and enacted various incidents from his life. This helped them to  gain an insight into the life of Birsa Munda .They also got an opportunity to showcase their dramatic skills.

Children's Day Celebrations

On the occasion of Children's Day the Junior Wing of Veda Vyasa DAV Public School organised a special assembly and a magic show. The students of class V-F conducted the morning assembly and greeted the students on the 125 th birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India, Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, famous among the children as Chacha Nehru.
A magic show was also organised in the school auditorium to entertain the students on Children's Day. Students enjoyed the magical tricks performed by the magician that included disappearing of a ring,  glass hanging in the air etc.

Campaign for pollution free Diwali

The students of classes IV and V led a campaign for a pollution Free Diwali recently. They carried placards with slogans on No smoke, No pollution written on them.The volunteers of the campaign appealed to all the students of the Junior Wing to celebrate an eco-friendly and safe Diwali by saying NO to crackers which emit hazardous chemicals and gases.

Best out of waste

Students of IV and V participated in the activity " Best out of Waste" in their Eco Club. Students used waste materials like plastic bottles, ice- cream sticks, cans etc to make items of daily usage and decorative pieces.  Students showcased their creativity and innovative skills while performing this activity


Sea World on the plate

The Art Club of the Junior Wing recently held an interesting activity " Sea World on a Plate" for the students of IV and V. While the main motive of the activity was to tickle the creative and artistic sense of the students,  the little hands were also trained to make the best possible use of Shilpkar, clay paints and acrylic colors. Students came up with beautiful creations and enjoyed the activity thoroughly.

"Advertise Me"

The English dept of the junior wing organised an activity "ADVERTISE ME" for the students of classes IV and V. The activity tickled the creative skills of the students who showcased their acumen in propagating the sale of a consumer durable product with great confidence. Students chose products like laptops, smart phones, cosmetics, stationery items etc and prepared innovative advertisements on the same.

Creating beautiful tangrams

The   tangrams (Chinese puzzle) is a dissection puzzle consisting of seven flat shapes, called tans, which are put together to form shapes. The objective of the puzzle is to form a specific shape  using all seven pieces, which may not overlap.
Students of classes IV and V created scenes of jungle ,  river side and village using the concept of  tangrams

Nach Baliye

The Junior Wing of VV DAV Public School  organised a solo dance competition for the students of classes IV and V. The participants performed various dance forms ranging from the classical to the folk and indo- western genre. Harshita Boolchandani of IV-i and Navnidhi of V-B were declared the winners of the competition.

To locate the centre of the circle

The students of class IV found out the centre of the circle made by a bangle. They folded the cut out twice and got the creases cutting each other at a point.

Length(Measurements)

Students of class IV measured the length of bulletin board , desks, window panes etc to know about different units of lengths and their relations

Multiplication as repeated addition

Students of class IV used bindis to find the various multiplication facts and to show that  multiplication is repeated addition .

Bridging the gap -An interactive session with Grand Parents

On the occasion of Elders’ Day, the Junior Wing of Veda Vyasa D. A.V Public School organized the event, Bridging the Gap- an interactive session with the grandparents on 27 September 2014 in the school auditorium.
The event began with the Principal’s address to the gathering emphasizing the role and contribution of the grandparents in the all-round development of a child. The event marked the coming together of the two generations- the titans of the yesteryears and the torch-bearers of the future. The students posed a series of questions to the grandparents based on the social, educational and other issues of concern. The grandparents also shared some of their most memorable experiences and encouraged the young budding minds to walk on the ideals of sincerity, truth and integrity throughout their lifetime. Fun and frolic were also a part of the celebration as the audience witnessed the grandparents shaking their legs to the tunes played by the students and humming the melodious numbers of yester years.

Mera Bharat Swachch Bharat- Cleanliness Drive

As part of nation wide campaign "Mera Bharat Swachchh Bharat" announced by our honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, students and teachers from class Preschool to class XII enthusiastically participated in cleanliness drive in the school. Both of them had brought mops, dusters, old shirts etc. and took the initiative of cleaning every nook and corner of the school- their classrooms, corridors, drinking water areas, gardens, playground, school canteen etc. They together pledged to keep their surroundings clean and work together for a cleaner India.

Book Mark Making Activity

Bookmark- making activity was held in class IV .  Students brought the materials required for the activity from home and made the bookmarks in the class. They also wrote short and motivational quotes on the bookmarks and pasted the same in their English notebooks.

Poster Making Activity

Students of class V took part in a poster making activity. They designed impressive posters based on the theme of "Conserving Environment". The students used their imaginative bent of mind to design posters that reflected the prevalent ecological degradation and measures to do away with the same. Their works showcased their level of understanding of the grave issues of global warming and its alarming effects

On the occasion of the 106th birth anniversary of the eminent Hindi poet Ram Dhari Singh Dinkar, the Junior Wing of Veda Vyasa D.A.V Public School organized a Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition on 23September 2014. Science Activity- JAGO GRAHAK JAGO

Students of class V observed the wrappers of various fooditems to understand the nutritional value of that food,the date of manufacturing and expiry, ingredients , meaning of green dot and red dot,net content ,how to store it and also the method of preservation used like pasteurisation etc. This activity helped them to become more aware  consumers.

To inculcate values among students


Hawan is a regular feature of our institution. It is performed to purify  our environment. To create a healthy atmosphere and inculcate human values ,we had organised a shivir programme in school on 12 September 2014 for classes IV and V


Importance of games

The objective of this activity was to know the importance of games and the values we achieve by playing together and to know the qualities of our favourite player which  can be  imbibed.

Fun Way to Learn!!!

Students prepared card game to strengthen the concept of balanced diet, causes of various deficiency diseases, identifying food sources to prevent the occurence of deficiency diseases and symptoms of diseases etc. They thoroughly enjoyed the activity and learned the concept in a fun filled manner.







Poster Making Activity

Students prepared posters on environmental issues like Global warming, deforestation, importance of trees, wildlife protection etc.

Dignity Of Labour

Students came dressed up as people in different occupations like farmers, labourers ,rickshaw pullers ,porters etc. Through this activity they got sensitized towards the importance of manual labour. They could also relate that every profession is important and has dignity.
