On the occasion of
Elders’ Day, the Junior Wing of Veda Vyasa D. A.V Public School organized the
event, Bridging the Gap- an interactive
session with the grandparents on 27 September 2014 in the school auditorium.
The event began with
the Principal’s address to the gathering emphasizing the role and contribution
of the grandparents in the all-round development of a child. The event marked
the coming together of the two generations- the titans of the yesteryears and
the torch-bearers of the future. The students posed a series of questions to
the grandparents based on the social, educational and other issues of concern. The
grandparents also shared some of their most memorable experiences and
encouraged the young budding minds to walk on the ideals of sincerity, truth
and integrity throughout their lifetime. Fun and frolic were also a part of the
celebration as the audience witnessed the grandparents shaking their legs to
the tunes played by the students and humming the melodious numbers of yester
years.
