The Primary Wing of Veda Vyasa DAV Public School celebrated the 84th birth anniversary of the Missile Man of India, Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam with great zeal and enthusiasm. Popularly known as the People's President, Dr Kalam has become the role model for million of youngsters with his passion for perfection, utmost sincerity towards the endeavours taken up and a simple living ,high thinking mantra. To make the birthday celebrations even more memorable, students decorated the bulletin boards with the famous quotes of Dr Kalam along with the timeline of his achievements and accomplishments . The movie 'I am Kalam' was screened for the students on the smart boards on this occasion. Dr Kalam's ideals will always inspire the generations to face the challenges and overcome them with determination.

Hindi Debate
The Primary Wing of Veda Vyasa DAV Public School organized a Hindi Debate Competition for the students of classes IV and V.The topic of the debate was “Sanyunkt Parivar mein hi Jeevan Mulyon ka Vikas Sambhav Hai”. Students put forth their points in favour and against the motion and expressed their views with ease and confidence. While the participants in favour of the motion stated the benefits of a joint family system and its role in shaping up the moral and ethical values in the children, the ones against the motion vehemently opposed them by stating the disadvantages of this set up in modern times. Ahaana Verma and Nayan Giri bagged the first and second positions respectively in Class IV. Sushmita Chatterjee was declared the first prize winner among the students of class V. Kopal Tyagi and Aditya Shukla were jointly declared as the second prize winners.

Independence Day Celebrations 2015
Colours of Independence : Veda Vyasa DAV Public School, Vikas Puri celebrated the 69 Independence Day with vigour and glory. A special Morning Assembly was held to mark the celebrations. The Assembly commenced with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, followed by hoisting of the National Tri-Colour by Principal Mrs Chitra Nakra , the Supervisory Heads and the Head Boy and the Head Girl of the school. Students presented patriotic song and dance items , instrumental pieces and expressed their love and devotion for the motherland through performances. The assembly was further ornamented by the dance number performed by the students of Akansha wing of the school. In her address,Mrs Nakra reiterated the importance of shaping the future generations into responsible , diligent and committed citizens of the country.

Morning Assembly
The Junior Wing held a special Morning Assembly recently . The highlight of the Assembly was the distribution of the medals won by the students of classes III,IV and IV at various levels of Olympiad examinations . Ms Vandana Chawla gave away the medals and the certificates to the winners and applauded them for their praiseworthy performance and hoped that the students will keep on bringing honour to the school.

Pictorial Dialogue Writing
Students of class V engaged themselves in a Pictorial Dialogue Writing activity and enjoyed it thoroughly. The activity was initiated by the English department and aimed at honing the writing skills of the learners and tickle their imagination. Students were given some situations based on the plot of the story and were asked to prepare dialogues between the characters. The activity also aimed at enhancing the vocabulary of the young learners
